Thankful

Posted on Monday, November 22, 2010

I can't believe it is thanksgiving week!  I feel like November didn't even happen.  I am with my mom for another sleepover in this little reclining vinyl armchair, and one thing I have learned about hospitals is that they give you plenty of time to think.  I've been thinking about thanksgiving and what our family is going to eat and do this year considering all the craziness happening.  I have also been thinking about what I am thankful for. So here is my list!

  • Health-I am thankful to be healthy, despite the fairly rare occasion of getting sick, I am lucky to be a pretty healthy girl.  I am glad I have no life-affecting allergies (jason) or undiagnosable illnesses (mom).
  • Family-Jason and I are so lucky to have such great family!
  • Friends-Living in SLC has deprived me of seeing old friends, and I miss you all!  Please visit?
  • Love-It is great to be married and have someone you love with you 24/7
  • The Gospel-It is the source of all things good in my life
  • Warmth-I don't want cold weather, although the snow looks beautiful out the window of a warm room. (Utah, can you please not have another winter that lasts through April please?  I thank you in advance, I know you will take my request into serious consideration!)
  • Provo-I realize that provo is where I consider home to be, and I miss it!
This year I have noticed how seriously thankful I am for the serious things in life.  So many things have been happening, or not happening that make me realize all the great things in my life I take for granted.

The pictures we used for our thank you cards, since it is Thanksgiving and I am expressing my thankfulness and all, and pictures without pics aren't as exciting.  By the way, I am sorry if you haven't got one yet!  I still need some of you addresses and Jason keeps promising he is going to write them to people in OK, but it never seems to get done...

An update on my mom; she is doing better, still feeling sick but better than she has been!  And they just might send her home tomorrow morning.

Jason's Dad has been in the hospital this week, so hopefully he is doing better, mention him in your prayers as well!

The Inside Of Hospitals

Posted on Saturday, November 20, 2010

I am writing this from he Alta View Hospital in Sandy.  I am having a sleepover with my mom, what fun!  My family attended my Grandpa's funeral today, and I stayed behind with my mom while she is in the hospital.

After 2 trips to the ER in three days, my nice uncle Steve admitted her here.  We don't exactly know what is wrong, she has been sick since July!  My skinny mom is getting even skinnier. She is having a hard time eating anything, or drinking anything for that matter!  Have her in your prayers so the doctors can think like House and finally figure out what is wrong.  All the test results come back great, and it is weird to hope that one of these times they will come back showing what is wrong.

It sure has been a crazy week!

Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and one thing I am thankful for is my home ward and how kind they have been to my family this past week. Putting up our Christmas Lights, blessings, gifts, visits and phone calls.  I know that so many people would be their for my mom if I wasn't able to.  Thanks!

On a side note, the 'T' button is being particularly sticky.  I have never realized what a common letter it is!

P.S.  If any gluten free people read this post, I just read this blog, Off the Wheaten Path, and found this post, about a 25 days of gluten free giveaways!  Yes, I am excited to enter!

New Salon

Posted on Wednesday, November 17, 2010

I am really excited to be starting at a new hair salon!
Moore Hair Design

They just moved to a new location in Cotton Wood, and it is going to be a great new and professional salon.

I have been hoping to find something that fits my idea of what a perfect salon should be, and I really think I have found the perfect place!
I would love to have you come get your hair done!  It is going to be difficult to rebuild my clientele now that I moved to Salt Lake, so if you know anyone needing their hair done show some love and mention my name!

Click here to visit the MHD's website and learn a bit more about the place.

Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!

Posted on Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Minus the Lions & Bears, (and penguins...)
But Hogle Zoo DID have Owls!!! Two Kinds!

Saturday Jason and went to the zoo!  It was such a beautiful fall day, it was great to be outside and see all the animals.

I think we both loved the monkeys, this lady by us had her purse stuffed full of nuts and kept feeding them, so we stuck by her for a while.  I don't think I realized that tigers were so big!  They were playing with pumpkins and reminded me of real cats, just deadly ones.  But I know Kitty would eat me alive if she could.  The only difference is that tigers are so much bigger!

On Friday night my parents gave us their extra basketball tickets and we got to go watch the BYU vs. BYUH game, which wasnt much of a game, but we still had a ton of fun.  We both miss Provo, it is nice to see familiar faces around.  My mom also got us tickets to this next upcoming game, so we are excited for that too!

Halloween

Posted on Wednesday, November 3, 2010

I love Halloween! What isn't there not to love?  Fall weather, pumpkin pancakes, spooky stories, and costumes, I love all of it!  Unfortunately this year I didn't get to dress up because we didn't have anywhere to go, but we still managed to have fun just the two of us.
Jason got to dress up for work at the Boys & Girls club on Friday.  He was electrocuted.  It was hilarious!  He even had one of those hand buzzers so he would shake the kids hands and "shock" them.

Halloween night we went to dinner at Texas Road House. (Yummiest rolls ever!)  Then came home and carved pumpkins from my dad's garden. I lost the pictures of our completed pumpkins, mine was a owl and Jason's was a cool castle.

Notice our onesies, we had to dress up somehow!
