Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!

Posted on Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Minus the Lions & Bears, (and penguins...)
But Hogle Zoo DID have Owls!!! Two Kinds!

Saturday Jason and went to the zoo!  It was such a beautiful fall day, it was great to be outside and see all the animals.

I think we both loved the monkeys, this lady by us had her purse stuffed full of nuts and kept feeding them, so we stuck by her for a while.  I don't think I realized that tigers were so big!  They were playing with pumpkins and reminded me of real cats, just deadly ones.  But I know Kitty would eat me alive if she could.  The only difference is that tigers are so much bigger!

On Friday night my parents gave us their extra basketball tickets and we got to go watch the BYU vs. BYUH game, which wasnt much of a game, but we still had a ton of fun.  We both miss Provo, it is nice to see familiar faces around.  My mom also got us tickets to this next upcoming game, so we are excited for that too!

I Have Been A Horrible Blogger.

Posted on Friday, October 15, 2010

It's true.  I haven't posted in sooo long!  And I don't even have the excuse of being extremely busy.  So here is some of the fun things we have been up to in the past weeks...

The BYU football game with my parents.  We were lucky enough to get tent tickets!!!! The tent is a magical, air-conditioned place with tons of yummy BYU catering food before the game, and treats at half-time and after the game.  The marching band and cheerleaders even come perform a song!
The east side is not the best side of the stadium when  the sun is shining.

Yummy gluten free pizza from Spaghetti Mamma's.  Jason said it is comparable to NY pizza.  And Sour Straws and Coke and the sneak peek of The Social Network.  (I won us tickets at the Dew Tour!)  We really liked the movie!

Watching a very disappointing BYU vs USU football game at Danny & Aly's.

Listening to Conference at temple square.  (We have to give talks on Sunday on our favorite talks, I am already really nervous!!!)

Attending the first ever Gluten Free expo and sampling a ton of yummy gluten free treats.

Spotting funny License Plates.

Mountain Dew & Skateboards

Posted on Sunday, September 19, 2010

Me and Jason spent our weekend at the Dew tour. (Possibly Jason's favorite time of year.) It was oh so fun, and oh so hot!

We got to see all the best skateboarders, BMXers and FMXers and get lots of free stuff. Jason is a sucker free things and each day he got more and more free sunglasses, bandanas, hats, jerky, bags, posters, autographs, powerbars, fake tattoos and other boy things. Oh and I am really lucky at spinning wheels and i won us free sneak peek movie passes and lots of hot tamales :)

There was a lot of free mountain dew. Which I sometimes love and Jason always loves.(Picture #1 happened as I was taking picture #2, notice Jason laughing at me.)

Jason got to meet Bob Burnquist, one of his favorite skaters and our favorite faller. (see below...)

Probably our favorite event we got to see was Vert Skateboarding. Shaun White, Bucky Lasek (who we know because we got his autograph last year), Andy McDonald, PLG, Bob Burnquist (who we also know) and other cool people were there. So they did even better tricks than usual because the competition was so good. It was super crowded, I think even more so because everyone there was in love with Shaun White. He won and it was amazing.

Bucky, Shaun, and Andy.

One of Shaun White's runs, not his
winning one but still really great!

One of my other favorite events was BMX dirt.

A cool picture with the temple in the background.

And us, And children playing in the dirt and I feel sorry for their parents, And I got to high five the bikers as they rode by after their run and this guy hurt my hand because he was so happy because he was so proud of the tricks he just did.

I feel really bad because I underestimated how busy it would be on saturday and we missed Jason's favorite event, skate park finals, and Ryan Scheckler, but we saw his mom at a booth.
But this was a cool trick at prelims.

Winter Dew tours is in Feburary, so maybe we won't have to wait until next year to go again!

This is us a year ago at the Dew Tour
