And So The Deer Lived

Posted on Friday, October 29, 2010

Last weekend Jason got to go camping with my dad, his friend, and my brother Tyler out in Ephraim. Despite the fact it was freezing cold, and wouldn't stop snowing/raining/hailing, he had a blast!  Luckily, the bad weather resulting in the deer hiding, and no dead deer.  Jason didn't even get to draw a tag this year, so I didn't have to worry about him  bringing one home anyways, but I was still glad no one got one. He got a lot of great pictures, here a few of the best. They came home pretty muddy.

Also, I had to add this song....my thoughts exactly!

I went to spend the weekend with my mom.  It was a lot of fun spending time together.  We did a lot of shopping, which I haven't got to do for a while, and got some great deals.
Including a coffee table!  We picked up this coffee table from DI and spray painted it like crazy. It turned out really cute!

I will post pics of it in the apartment soon.  Our apartment is starting to look really cute!  With a lot of help from my mom, it is finally starting to feel like a home!

Dillon Beach & San Francisco

Posted on Monday, October 18, 2010

This Fall we went on a trip to our friend Vanessa's family's beach house at Dillon Beach in Northern California.  It was a while ago, but as per request I thought it would be fun to still post about it!
Me and Jason were expecting a sunny, warm beach, but it was more like a cold northwest beach.  It was really pretty and we still had a lot of fun despite the cold weather!

Despite the freezing cold water Jason still hoping to go surfing, but had to settle for Boogie-Boarding with our friend Ben instead.
We laid out and tried to get some sun!

One of the nights we went bowling, which was some what of an adventure, the gps led us to someones house instead of a bowling alley, but eventually we found it.

On our last day we decided to make the drive to San Francisco. Me and Jason love San Francisco, but we still didn't get to walk on the Golden Gate Bridge, something we have always wanted to do, but we had fun doing everything else.  We watched the seals, went to Ghirardelli Square and got a treat, and wandered around the windy pier.

We love California, and had such a fun time with everyone. Nothing beats playing cards all night at a beach house!  We can't wait to visit again!

I Have Been A Horrible Blogger.

Posted on Friday, October 15, 2010

It's true.  I haven't posted in sooo long!  And I don't even have the excuse of being extremely busy.  So here is some of the fun things we have been up to in the past weeks...

The BYU football game with my parents.  We were lucky enough to get tent tickets!!!! The tent is a magical, air-conditioned place with tons of yummy BYU catering food before the game, and treats at half-time and after the game.  The marching band and cheerleaders even come perform a song!
The east side is not the best side of the stadium when  the sun is shining.

Yummy gluten free pizza from Spaghetti Mamma's.  Jason said it is comparable to NY pizza.  And Sour Straws and Coke and the sneak peek of The Social Network.  (I won us tickets at the Dew Tour!)  We really liked the movie!

Watching a very disappointing BYU vs USU football game at Danny & Aly's.

Listening to Conference at temple square.  (We have to give talks on Sunday on our favorite talks, I am already really nervous!!!)

Attending the first ever Gluten Free expo and sampling a ton of yummy gluten free treats.

Spotting funny License Plates.

Boomer's New Haircut

Posted on Tuesday, September 21, 2010

So my family has this giant golden retriever who's name is Boomer.  He loves everyone. The best dog in the world!
(This picture doesn't do justice to how huge he is.)
Last Saturday my Grandpa Hatch was in town for a High School Reunion, 60th I think!  So me and Jason went over to see him, and my Aunt and Uncle and cousins family, and have ribs for dinner.

We also got to see....

Boomer's new Haircut! Poor Thing is shaved bald!

And it is a horrible haircut too.

Couldn't they have blended it a bit more?

He is still so cute though, even if he has bald pink spots.  Last time he went to the vet they said he needed to lose 20 pounds, he weighs over 100.  But now that all that fur is gone he looks pretty fit!

Mountain Dew & Skateboards

Posted on Sunday, September 19, 2010

Me and Jason spent our weekend at the Dew tour. (Possibly Jason's favorite time of year.) It was oh so fun, and oh so hot!

We got to see all the best skateboarders, BMXers and FMXers and get lots of free stuff. Jason is a sucker free things and each day he got more and more free sunglasses, bandanas, hats, jerky, bags, posters, autographs, powerbars, fake tattoos and other boy things. Oh and I am really lucky at spinning wheels and i won us free sneak peek movie passes and lots of hot tamales :)

There was a lot of free mountain dew. Which I sometimes love and Jason always loves.(Picture #1 happened as I was taking picture #2, notice Jason laughing at me.)

Jason got to meet Bob Burnquist, one of his favorite skaters and our favorite faller. (see below...)

Probably our favorite event we got to see was Vert Skateboarding. Shaun White, Bucky Lasek (who we know because we got his autograph last year), Andy McDonald, PLG, Bob Burnquist (who we also know) and other cool people were there. So they did even better tricks than usual because the competition was so good. It was super crowded, I think even more so because everyone there was in love with Shaun White. He won and it was amazing.

Bucky, Shaun, and Andy.

One of Shaun White's runs, not his
winning one but still really great!

One of my other favorite events was BMX dirt.

A cool picture with the temple in the background.

And us, And children playing in the dirt and I feel sorry for their parents, And I got to high five the bikers as they rode by after their run and this guy hurt my hand because he was so happy because he was so proud of the tricks he just did.

I feel really bad because I underestimated how busy it would be on saturday and we missed Jason's favorite event, skate park finals, and Ryan Scheckler, but we saw his mom at a booth.
But this was a cool trick at prelims.

Winter Dew tours is in Feburary, so maybe we won't have to wait until next year to go again!

This is us a year ago at the Dew Tour

Squirrel Attack

Posted on Wednesday, September 15, 2010

Jason has been begging me and begging me to go golfing with him. Today I finally agreed to come watch, but not to golf
(because I don't know how).
At hole one there was some cute squirrels running around and because I love animals, especially the cute furry small forest type, of course I wanted to feed them! Jason had some sunflower seeds in his bag so i started feeding the squirrels.
Jason told me to hand the seeds to them, and i took that too literal and held one in between my fingers. The squirrel ran up grabbed the seed out of my hand with its little paws and then bit my finger! It drew blood. And quite a lot!
Now I am scared I have rabies or some other furry little squirrel disease. Jason promises me I will be OK, but I don't know. But I'll be honest, I think my feelings were hurt more than my finger.

Jason was trying to take a picture of me feeding the squirrel but instead got this action shot of me pulling away in pain after the squirrel sunk its' sharp, yellow teeth into my finger.
